The teacher understands how students differ in their approaches to learning and creates instructional opportunities that are adapted to diverse learners.
I know and realize that students learn in different ways. I understand that if I adapt my teaching to meet the needs of my students that it will make it more applicable to their lives and make the class a more positive experience and make them more willing to learn the content.
This artifact is a paper about a campus collaboration project in the Multicultural Foundations of Education class. In the spring of 2010 I had the opportunity to teach a couple of diverse students in the GEAR UP program at Sky View High School. It explains my understanding of the needs of the diverse learners I had. I adapted my instructional strategies to the needs of the learners and I connected with them during my lesson. It made my lesson more applicable to them and made my experience even better than I originally expected. I plan to use this evaluation and revision process and to take into account the diversity of my own students to make my lessons better and more applicable to the students I teach.
